What we do to Help

Collective Bargaining

Collective bargaining is the process in which working people, through their unions, negotiate contracts with their employers to determine their terms of employment, including pay, benefits, hours, leave, job health and safety policies, ways to balance work and family, and more. Collective bargaining is a way to solve workplace problems.

Safeguarding the Interests of the Workers

The Unions try to improve the economic conditions of the workers by representing their cases to the employers and try to get an adequate bonuses to the workers. Most industries try to exploit the workers to the maximum.

Job Security

Job security has always been a key benefit to being part of a union, as unions typically work with employers to preserve jobs, especially during hard times when a layoff may be necessary.

Capacity Building of Members

The Union organises capacity building programmes to develop and strengthen the soft and hard skills of its members to stay competitive and improve their business operation.

Occupational Health and Safety

Unions play an important role in enforcing health and safety standards. Individual workers may find it too costly to obtain information on health and safety risks on their own, and they usually want to avoid antagonizing their employers by insisting that standards be respected

Legal Representation

The Union has the duty to represent all employees - whether members of the union or not-fairly, in good faith, and without discrimination. This duty applies to virtually every action that a union may take in dealing with an employer as your representative, including collective bargaining, handling grievances, and operating exclusive hiring halls.
